Extrusion is an Add Object tool in 3D inside 3DPlotter V3 Studio. A profile swept along a spine and turned in space.
How to use Extrusion
- Open Studio → Add Object → 3D → Extrusion
- A live Extrusion element is added to the active layer
- Tune parameters in the element card in the object stack (live canvas preview)
- Export plot-ready G-code when satisfied

Key controls
- Profile — circle · Circle, Polygon, Star, Donut
- Spine — helix · Ring, Helix, Arc…
- Sides — 12 (3–40 step 1)
- Instances — 40 (2–160 step 1)
- Width — 14mm (1–60mm step 0.5)
Tune profile, spine, sides, instances, and width in the inspector — open Studio to see all options.
Shuffle (in the element card) re-rolls: profile, spine, sides, rings, taper, turns, twist, scaleWave, scaleWaveCount, showProfiles, continuousLine.
What you can plot with Extrusion
- Pen-plotter art on A4/A3 beds (Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, and other pen-holder setups)
- Layered linework exported as G-code with pen-up travel
- Combined with other V3 objects and modifiers in the same document

What can I adjust?

Is this non-destructive?
Objects live on layers as elements. You can edit parameters anytime; delete the element to remove it.
Does Extrusion work with multi-pen plotting?
Yes. Use Pen Palette on a layer to split linework by color, or set per-path ink on modifiers like Offset.
