Print the Pen Holder

Download the pen holder STL for your printer from our database and print it. We have tested designs for Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Ender, and more.

  • Select your printer model from our STL database
  • Print with PLA or PETG at standard settings
  • Spring-loaded design fits most pens (8-12mm diameter)
  • Clips onto your print head—no permanent modifications

Create Your Design

Use our web app to create designs from text, images, or freehand drawing. Select your printer preset and preview on the simulated bed.

  • Type text with 50+ Hershey stroke fonts
  • Upload images for automatic vectorization
  • Draw freehand with pen and shape tools
  • Use layout tools to arrange your composition

Generate G-code

Click generate to create optimized G-code for your printer. Our PlotFlow Engine handles all the technical details—safe Z heights, speeds, and coordinates.

  • One-click generation—no manual editing
  • Optimized travel paths minimize plotting time
  • Printer-specific headers and footers included
  • Preview the toolpath before exporting

Common Questions

How long does the first plot take?

Most users complete their first plot in under 30 minutes from purchase. This includes printing the pen holder (~45 min, can be done while exploring the app), creating a simple design (~5 min), and plotting (~5-10 min for a small design).

Do I need to modify my printer?

No permanent modifications needed. The pen holder clips onto your print head and can be removed in seconds. Your printer remains fully functional for 3D printing.

What if my printer isn't listed?

Use our Custom Board feature to enter any bed dimensions. If your printer accepts standard G-code (most FDM printers do), it will work with 3DPlotter.

Can I use any pen?

Yes! Our pen holder fits pens with 8-12mm diameter. Popular choices include Sakura Pigma Micron, Staedtler fineliners, Sharpies, gel pens, and brush pens.
