v2.9.8
LatestAugust 15, 2026
Sidebar Redesign, Greek Font & Pattern Workflow
A cleaner sidebar layout, proper Greek lettering for single-stroke text, and a clearer pattern workflow — preview first, then add to the canvas when you're happy.
Generators card — Pattern, Generative Brush, and QR Code in one tabbed panel
Fonts card — Handwrite and Custom Fonts together in the sidebar
Add to Canvas for patterns — commit a live preview as a permanent element instead of stacking previews as you tweak sliders
Typeable values for text size, letter spacing, line spacing, and text box width — click the number and type an exact value
Greek accents & final sigma — tonos on ά έ ή ί ό ύ ώ and a proper word-final ς in the Greek single-stroke font
Coast silhouette maps — when only the Water layer is on, plot much larger areas at a lower zoom
Canvas Elements accordion — settings expand inline under each element in the list
Pattern preview — one live preview in place; sliders after Add to Canvas no longer spawn extra patterns
Single-stroke font picker scrolls correctly so Cyrillic and Greek options are always reachable
Word-final σ automatically becomes ς when using the Greek font
v2.9.7

Smarter Exports & Image Vectorization
Control draw order and ink passes when exporting, add a shaded fill style for SVG imports, and turn raster photos into line-following vector paths — no PicSVG workaround needed.
Outline first export option — draw outlines and borders before hatch fills so edges stay crisp on multi-pass plots
Fill passes and Outline passes (1–6 each) — repeat hatch fills and outlines independently; freehand strokes always draw once
Shaded SVG fill mode — dark-filled SVG regions get an outline plus diagonal hatch for a hand-shaded look
Convert to SVG on raster uploads — vectorize a PNG/JPG in one click so the pen follows actual image lines instead of only horizontal/vertical hatch
Vector tracing mode (formerly Contour) — clearer label and tip for getting line-following plots from photos and line art
Outline first, fill passes, and outline passes now apply correctly in exported G-code (roles stay aligned through travel optimization)
v2.9.6
August 14, 2026
Multi-Color SVG & Smarter Imports
Import multi-color SVGs into aligned pen layers, pick files with a drag-and-drop modal across the board and 3D studio, and see each layer’s real ink color in the panel — including black pens on the dark canvas.
Multi-color SVG import — upload one SVG with several stroke/fill colors and 3DPlotter creates a separate pen layer for each color, already aligned on the bed
File import modal — drag and drop or browse from your computer when importing images to trace, reference photos, G-code/3MF, or 3D models
SVG alignment — imports now position artwork relative to the SVG artboard (viewBox), so separately exported color files with the same page size land in the same place on the bed
Layer colors match ink on multi-color imports — black and other dark pens keep their real swatch in the layers panel and show as a visible gray preview on the dark canvas
True Size (1:1) SVG import now uses the artboard dimensions for placement, keeping multi-pen layers and re-imported color files in register
After a multi-color import, a short confirmation explains how to use Export → Export by Layer for multi-pen G-code
v2.9.5
August 14, 2026
Printer Profiles & Direct G-code Export
Switching printers now applies the right Z height, speeds, bed size, and pen holder for each machine. The 3D and Map tools get a full G-code export dialog with a live bed preview — and every Bambu Lab printer exports correctly.
Direct G-code export for the 3D and Map tools — export modal with bed preview (no-draw zones, printable area, artwork placement), plotter settings summary, and start/finish pause controls like the main board
Printer switching now updates Z-Draw, Z-Lift, pen speed, and travel speed to each printer's calibrated defaults — Falu holder 14 / 20 (X1, P1, A1), H2 cover 12 / 20, P2S Sebas toolhead 17 / 25
3D studio and Map tool resize the canvas to the new printer's printable area when you change printer, and the 3D render re-fits so proportions stay correct
Main board applies the same calibrated defaults on printer change and auto-selects the Sebas pen plotter attachment for P2S and X2D
Direct G-code export for all Bambu Lab printers (X1C, P1S, P2S, A1 Mini, H2S, and more) — no-draw clamping and orientation now match the main plotter board
Every supported Bambu Lab printer profile now ships with guide-tested Z heights instead of generic placeholder values
v2.9.4
August 12, 2026
Custom Fonts, Handwriting & Draw Preview
Upload your own TTF/OTF fonts, draw a personal single-line handwriting font, preview how the pen will move before you export, and turn photos into hatched line art — all saved to your account.
Custom font upload — add your own .ttf or .otf files (up to 10 fonts, 5 MB each), saved to your account and listed under My Fonts in the Outline, Hatched, and Solid font pickers
My Handwriting — draw your own single-line letters in the sidebar Handwrite panel (A–Z, a–z, 0–9), save up to 5 variants per character, and pick My Handwriting at the top of the single-stroke font list
Draw preview — play, pause, step, and scrub through how the plotter will draw your design on the canvas toolbar, with adjustable speed and optional travel-move preview
Photo hatch import — when you add a photo, choose Edit & hatch to threshold the image and fill dark areas with scanline hatching (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal, optional cross-hatch) before placing it on the board
Hatch tracing algorithm for uploaded images — brightness, contrast, invert, and threshold controls tuned for portrait and photo line art
Design expansion scale range increased to 10× with quick presets at 3× and 5× for oversized posters and wall art
Custom font upload parsing fixed on the server — TTF/OTF files that failed with “Could not parse” now import correctly
v2.9.3

Map Tool — Now for Everyone
The Map tool is no longer limited to beta testers. Creator Bundle owners and everyone who bought 3DPlotter before the bundle launched can frame any place on Earth and plot it. Opening a map on the board now matches the map preview size.
Map tool unlocked for Creator Bundle buyers and lifetime 3DPlotter owners who purchased before the bundle — find it in the Map tab
Prusa CORE One beta pen plotting with Printables #1451615 holder (40.5 mm X offset, ~210×220 mm plot area) and Orca-derived G-code
Bambu Lab X2D and A2L added to the pen plotter printer list (beta — dry-run on hardware recommended). X2D uses the Sebas P2S toolhead; A2L uses the H2S integrated cover.
Markers and map artwork no longer appear oversized on the board after Open in 3DPlotter — import uses the same printable-area fit as G-code export
Trip start/end dots use the marker pen weight instead of the route line weight
Default place-marker size is slightly smaller (5 mm) so pins read better on tight map frames
v2.9.2
August 7, 2026
P2S Front Margin Export Fix
Fixes P2S exports incorrectly reserving a large dead zone at the front of the bed even after the margin was reduced to 9 mm.
P2S G-code export no longer clamps the front of the bed to the old back-margin extruder limit — strokes at the canvas front now reach gcode Y≈9 mm (9 mm front margin) instead of being forced to Y≈35 mm
v2.9.1
August 8, 2026
P2S Calibrated Settings & Export Notes
P2S plot margins and Z-Draw are now tuned from Sebas beta feedback — Stabilo Point 88 at 17 mm Z-Draw with the Sebas toolhead, plus a clear export note about pen protrusion.
P2S default Z-Draw is 17 mm (Stabilo Point 88, ~4 cm pen protrusion above the Sebas toolhead) — applied when you select P2S and in Map/3D export defaults
Export dialog and G-code header now note that P2S bed margins assume the pen does not protrude more than 4 cm beyond the holder
P2S setup guide and marketing page updated for the calibrated 227 × 212 mm plot area and new Z-Draw value
v2.9.0
August 3, 2026
P2S Pen Plotter Toolhead by Sebas
The Bambu Lab P2S now has its own dedicated pen plotter toolhead in Resources, designed by Sebas — who also helped debug P2S firmware issues so 3dplotter works flawlessly on the P2S. Pick P2S when you sign up to get the setup guide by email.
P2S Pen Plotter Toolhead by Sebas in Resources → 3D Pen Models — STL download plus MakerWorld link
UMTS Pen Tube (parametric) by Mister Andersen — preview in Resources, Customize opens MakerWorld to pick pen hole presets or design your own (no download; print from MakerWorld)
P2S plot area updated from Sebas beta feedback — 227 × 212 mm (margins: 0 mm left, 35 mm back, 29 mm right, 9 mm front) after Z-Draw calibration
P2S green/red bed overlay draws all four unreachable strips correctly (left, back, right, and front)
Bambu Lab P2S is selectable in the printer dropdown when you create an account — you'll receive the P2S setup guide by email
Huge thank-you to Sebas for designing the P2S toolhead and helping fix P2S bugs so plotting works flawlessly
v2.8.0

Map — Plot Anywhere on Earth
A new Map tool: pan and zoom a live map, frame the area you want on your paper, and draw it. Streets, water, parks, buildings and railways each come out on their own pen, ready to plot or open on the board.
Map tool — choose any area in the world on a live map and turn it into plotter artwork
Frame overlay matches your paper size, so what you see inside the rectangle is exactly what gets drawn
Search any town, street or landmark by name and jump straight to it
Six independent pen layers — major roads, minor roads, water, buildings, green space and railways — each with its own colour
Roads are joined into long continuous strokes rather than thousands of short fragments, so plots run faster and look hand-drawn
Trip layer — draw a route by clicking the map, or import a .gpx from Strava, Komoot or Garmin; it plots on its own pen in its own colour, over the streets
Trips show their real distance, get optional start/end markers, and have their own line weight — or plot a trip on its own with no streets at all
Markers — click to mark a place, no route needed; they plot on their own pen
Mark a spot with a pin, ring or cross — or pick any shape from the shape library (hearts, stars, arrows, callouts) in the same picker the board uses
Caption — add a title and subtitle under the map, drawn in pen lettering, with optional coordinates. Mark where you met and write it underneath
Pick any of the app's 24 pen-plottable fonts for the caption — the same set the board uses
Your caption appears in the reserved space under the map as you type it, in the font you picked
Export as SVG, as ready-to-draw G-code for your printer (one file per pen), or send straight to the board for editing
The plot preview draws every pen in its own colour with a legend, so you can see at a glance which pen draws the streets, the water and your trip
Your route appears on the map as you draw it, and stays put when you switch basemap
Reset button clears the map and takes you back to pick a new area, keeping your paper size, layers, colours and trip
Paper presets now lead with your printer's bed size, dim any preset too big for it, and warn you before an oversized map gets scaled down on export
Choose your basemap while framing: Streets, dark Streets, OpenStreetMap or OpenTopoMap
Paper presets (A5/A4/A3, portrait and landscape), adjustable margin, simplify and minimum-detail controls, and the usual single or double plot frame
Live readout of how wide the framed area is on the ground, with a warning before you pick an area too large to draw
From Davy and Sebas — plot frames around imported artwork, import pen-plotter G-code with a live preview, smoother canvas zoom/pan, richer export pause options, and wider layer positioning. Image import goes straight to the board; tracing and frame settings stay in the sidebar.
Plot frame — optional single or double rectangle around traced artwork, with adjustable margin and line gap; exports with your design
Import G-code — toolbar button opens a preview dialog for pen-plotter files (.gcode, .gco, .nc): fit to bed, scale, rotation, mirror, and travel-move preview
Export dialog: finish pause at end of print so you can remove the pen holder before the printer homes (especially useful on P2S)
Export dialog: start pause — choose timed wait (G4) or wait-for-Resume (M400 U1) when attaching the pen at the beginning of a print
Canvas Reset view control — re-centre the bed after panning or zooming (toolbar and bottom-left zoom bar)
Export dialog is wider so start/finish pause and export options need less scrolling
Layer Offset X / Y sliders and number fields now span the full bed (±bed width and ±bed height) so you can move artwork edge to edge
Image import applies immediately to the board — tracing algorithm, fill mode, expansion, and plot frame are edited in the sidebar without an extra modal step
Zoomed canvas: pan with Space+drag, middle mouse, or scroll; Ctrl/Cmd+scroll still zooms
Expanding the canvas no longer makes a loaded trace image disappear — the Konva stage re-initialises correctly when the preview panel resizes
Export dialog no longer crashes when showing timed-pause G-code examples
Thank you to Davy and Sebas for driving plot frames, G-code import, export pauses, and canvas usability in this release

String Art Pen Plotter & P1S Export Polish
Photo string art opens on the pen plotter board with pen-friendly line counts and live editing. P1S / CoreXY export gets design-rotation WYSIWYG, safer front-of-bed clamping, and configurable pen-attachment pause. Thank you to Davy and all 634 active community members.
String Art tab: Open in 3DPlotter — import thread art onto the pen board and export G-code or SVG
String Art board editor — adjust pen line count and pen tip width in the sidebar with live preview
P1S / P1P / X1 / H2 / P2S: canvas rotation now exports correctly — design rotation is applied before the bed Y-flip, not double-stacked with mirror transforms
P1S: artwork near the front of the bed is no longer cropped at export — clamping runs in canvas space before the G-code Y conversion
P1S / CoreXY: canvas preview shows design rotation while you edit, matching what will print
Export dialog: optional start pause to attach the pen — timed wait (1–120 s) on P-series, or wait-for-Resume on X1
Layer Offset Y on P1S / X1 / H2 / P2S matches G-code grid direction (up = toward bed back)
Board, gallery, and multi-layer exports all use the same orientation pipeline for consistent results
Dense string art imports use pen-tip stroke width in preview instead of rendering as a solid blob
Board canvas footer no longer clips below the window — bed size, path count, and ▼ FRONT OF PRINTER marker stay visible at the bottom of the preview panel
Version badges (changelog page, site footer, and user menu) now show v2.7.6 to match the latest release
Thank you to Davy and our 634 active community members for bug reports, feature ideas, and creation
v2.7.5

Bambu P2S Beta & Pen Plotter Orientation
Adds Bambu Lab P2S pen plotter support and fixes how P1S, X1, H2, and P2 plots land on the bed — exports should now match what you see on the canvas, with clearer front/back and origin markers on the grid.
Bambu Lab P2S in the pen plotter printer list (256×256 mm, Series X & P pen holder, beta — dry-run on hardware recommended)
P2S setup guide and supported-printer landing page
P1S, P1P, X1, X1C, X1E, H2S, H2D, H2C, and P2S: what you see on the bed is what prints — the Y-axis bed conversion runs automatically at export with Mirror buttons off
P1S / X1 family: removed the incorrect default Mirror X that flipped plots left–right on the bed (e.g. east and west swapped on a compass)
Mirror X and Mirror Y in Layout are optional flips on top of the normal view — press Mirror Y to flip vertically relative to the canvas; leave both off for a straight WYSIWYG print
Saved Mirror X from the previous release is cleared when you open the plotter on a Bambu CoreXY printer
Bed grid for P1S, X1, and H2 printers: one 0,0 at the front-left corner, Y ruler counts up toward the back, and a ▼ FRONT label marks the door side
Move tool: after moving a path you can click another part without switching back to the Select tool first
P1S, X1, and P2S pen plotter: the red “pen cannot reach” strip is on the right bed edge (not the left), and the front of the bed no longer shows a bottom unreachable band — only the back/top band remains
Layout sidebar shows printer-aware default mirror and rotate settings when you switch between A1 and CoreXY printers
v2.7.4
July 28, 2026
Pen Reach Zones & A1 Family Export Fix
Pen plotter mode now shows the correct “can’t reach” area on the bed for each printer family, and exports for Bambu Lab A1, A1 Mini, and H2S no longer squash artwork against the back edge when you use the standard pen holder.
Bambu Lab A1, A1 Mini, and H2S with the standard pen plotter: the red “pen cannot reach” band is only at the top of the canvas (back of the bed) — the front of the bed stays fully usable down to the bottom edge
Pen plotter G-code export no longer pins strokes to the back of the bed when artwork sits near the top unreachable band — designs export at the position you placed them instead of smearing along Y max
The green printable outline and center crosshair match the real pen-reachable area for offset pen holders, including the back-of-bed limit from the 28 mm offset
X1 / P1 pen mounts still show front and back unreachable bands (plus the left strip) where both bed edges are limited
v2.7.3
July 25, 2026
Clearer Layout Controls & Pen-Mode Fixes
A polish release for the main plotter board: the center guide and position readouts match the real printable area with pen mode on, layout controls take less sidebar space, clearing the canvas uses the in-app confirmation dialog, and skip-homing text makes the homed-printer requirement explicit.
Pen plotter mode: the yellow center crosshair now sits in the middle of the area you can actually draw — aligned with the red “pen cannot reach” zone, not the full bed
Sidebar Position and Transform are merged into a compact Layout card — offset X/Y stay visible, mirror and rotate stay on screen without opening a panel
Layout offset fields now show the active layer’s position (plus any global offset) instead of staying at zero while you move artwork
Trash on the canvas toolbar always clears the entire board after an in-app confirmation — not just the current selection
Clear-board confirmation uses the same styled dialog as the rest of 3dplotter — no browser pop-up
Skip Homing (G28) setting explains that the printer must already be homed before you run G-code without G28
v2.7.2
July 20, 2026
More Canvas Room, Better Paper Picker & A1 Mini Fix
A focused layout and usability pass on the main plotter board: the canvas now gets two-thirds of the screen so you can see more of your design while you work, the paper-size picker matches the rest of the app with a proper dropdown and clear Vertical / Horizontal buttons, and the Bambu Lab A1 Mini dead-zone overlay finally sits on the correct edge of the bed.
The plotter board now uses a 2/3 canvas · 1/3 settings split on desktop — more room to draw and preview, with controls still one glance away on the right
Paper size selection now uses the same styled dropdown as the printer picker — dark theme, grouped sizes (A series, envelopes, postcards, custom), and dimensions shown for each option
Paper orientation is now explicit: tap Vertical or Horizontal instead of a single flip button, so portrait vs landscape is always clear
Bambu Lab A1 Mini: the red “pen cannot reach” zone now appears at the bottom of the canvas (front of the bed) instead of upside-down at the top — matching where the pen holder actually can't plot
v2.7.1

Calibration Overhaul — Safer, Clearer, Smarter
Pen height calibration just got a full safety and UX pass. Calibration G-code now starts at lighter contact (Z16) and works down to Z4 so you find the sweet spot before pressing too hard, with a clear warning to stop the print as soon as a row looks ideal. A new confirmation dialog walks you through dry-run-first procedure before download. X1 Carbon and P1-series calibration files now include the same pen-attachment pause as design exports (Resume on X-Series, 10-second window on P-Series). Guides, supported-printer pages, and external setup docs were updated to match.
Calibration test rows now run from Z16 down to Z4 (high to low) — lighter contact first, so you can spot the ideal line before the pen presses too hard
New calibration download dialog — like the export dialog, it explains dry-run-first procedure, pen-attachment timing, and stop-when-ideal safety before the G-code downloads
The calibration panel in the sidebar now shows purpose, Z-order, dry-run requirement, and pen-holder safety warnings at a glance
X1 Carbon / X1 / X1E calibration G-code now pauses for pen attachment (press Resume) — matching design exports, so homing finishes before you mount the pen
P1P / P1S calibration G-code now includes the 10-second pen-attachment wait — matching design exports
Fractal calibration tests use the same pen-attachment pause logic as full and compact calibration files
All five Bambu Lab setup guides now include a dedicated calibration step, mandatory dry-run language, and stop-when-ideal guidance
Supported-printer pages and Instructables / LinkedIn setup docs updated with the new calibration workflow

3D Model to SVG Studio — Draw Your 3D Models
The biggest creative addition since String Art: the new 3D Model to SVG Studio turns any 3D model into plotter line art. Drop in an STL, OBJ, PLY, GLB/glTF, or 3MF, frame it in a live 3D viewport, and render a true vector SVG with real hidden-line removal — only the edges you'd actually see get drawn, just like a hand-drawn sketch. Seven drawing styles (blueprint, cross-hatch shading, single-line spiral, topographic slices, wireframe, stipple dots, and a four-view technical drawing sheet), perspective or CAD-style orthographic projection, A5/A4/A3 paper presets, and multi-pen depth layers. Export the SVG, send ready-to-draw G-code straight to your printer, or open the result on the board and keep designing. Included in the Creator Bundle — and if you bought 3DPlotter before the bundle launched, it's yours at no extra cost.
New 3D to SVG tab: upload any 3D model (STL, OBJ, PLY, GLB/glTF, 3MF), rotate it in a live 3D viewport, and render it as true vector plotter line art — everything runs in your browser, your models never leave your computer
Blueprint mode with real hidden-line removal — only the edges you would actually see from your chosen angle are drawn, with an optional X-ray layer that keeps hidden edges as lighter lines
Hatch shading mode — cross-hatch shading built from the model's actual lighting, with 2-6 brightness bands at alternating angles and crisp outlines on top
Single-line spiral mode — one continuous spiral whose waves follow the model's shading, with adjustable ring spacing and wave amplitude
Technical drawing sheet mode — front, right, top, and isometric views arranged on one page like a CAD drawing, generated from any mesh
Topographic slices, wireframe, and stipple-dot modes round out seven drawing styles in total
Orthographic projection toggle — switch from perspective to parallel-ray CAD-style output with one click, plus A5/A4/A3 paper presets in portrait or landscape
Multi-pen layers — split the drawing into 2 or 3 colored SVG layers by depth (or by shading band in hatch mode) and plot each one with a different pen
Draw directly on your printer — pick your printer (same list as the board, custom printers included) and export ready-to-run G-code scaled to your bed, or open the SVG on the 3DPlotter board to keep editing
The 3D Model to SVG Studio is part of the Creator Bundle. Bought 3DPlotter before the bundle launched? It's included for you at no extra cost — just open the new tab

The Big Fill & Layers Fix — Thank You, Marko & Solia
This release is dedicated to Marko & Solia, whose in-depth YouTube review put 3DPlotter through a real-world stress test and surfaced a batch of genuine bugs — SVG imports ignoring the original artboard size, fills bleeding past the outline, solid fills you couldn't make denser, disconnected and compound shapes that wouldn't fill, and a clunky multi-colour layer workflow. Thank you both for buying it, using it, filming it, and reporting back so honestly. I fixed every one of those, then kept going with a ground-up paint-bucket overhaul, cleaner image/SVG fills, layer copy & merge fixes, and correct Bambu Lab A1 Mini output — plus a few additions of my own: a Points/Dots fill, shift-click multi-select into a new layer, metric & imperial rulers, and a click-to-set zoom.
Paint-bucket fill now fills only the compartment you click — it respects inner walls, nested cutouts, and holes instead of flooding the whole shape (so complex traced artwork fills section-by-section, the way you'd expect)
Paint-bucket fill no longer bleeds outside the clicked region or past a shape's outline — even on tricky imported artwork like faces and cars where it used to leak into neighbouring shapes
Paint-bucket fill now reaches right up to the walls — no more unfilled margin inside the compartment, no gap at the top or bottom, and the four corners fill in completely
The paint-bucket now has an adjustable fill density/spacing, so you can make the fill of small shapes as dense (or as open) as you like
Imported SVG fills no longer spill outside the outline — the fill lines stay neatly inside the shape
Imported JPG/PNG image fills no longer bleed past the outline, and now correctly leave holes empty instead of filling blank areas
The SVG "True Size" toggle now actually scales the import to a real-world 1:1 size on the bed
Filling a scaled SVG now scales the fill with it — the fill lines no longer stay at the old (larger) size after you resize the shape
The fill-pattern picker no longer opens partly off-screen — it now stays fully inside the window
Tracing in "Outline" mode no longer drops shapes — a circle that previously vanished from line-art now traces correctly
Tracing "Auto" mode no longer fragments simple images into jagged, broken pieces, and soft-gradient images (like watercolour-style waves) trace far more cleanly
New Points/Dots fill mode — fill a shape with a field of dots instead of lines for stippled, halftone-style shading
Shift-click to select multiple elements at once, then send them all to a new layer together
Copying an element to a new layer (or via copy/paste) no longer shrinks it — scaled artwork keeps its size
Merging two layers now keeps the content of both layers instead of dropping one
Bambu Lab A1 Mini G-code now starts and prints correctly — files generated for the A1 Mini no longer fail to begin the draw
The Export dialog now shows the correct printer name — "A1 Mini" instead of "A1"
Added metric & imperial rulers/guides around the canvas so you can see real-world dimensions while you design
The zoom percentage is now clickable — type or pick an exact zoom level instead of only using the buttons or scroll wheel
A heartfelt thank-you to Marko & Solia for the detailed YouTube review, and to the whole 3DPlotter community for buying, using, and reporting issues — your feedback drives releases like this one
v2.5.1

Accents Fixed in Outline & Hatched Fonts
A quick follow-up to the multilingual update: accented characters typed with option-key shortcuts (like ñ, á, é, ü, ç) were showing up as a little rectangle box in the outline, hatched, and solid font styles. They now render and plot correctly in every font style — and the same fix applies to text placed along a path.
Accented characters no longer appear as a rectangular box in the outline, hatched, and solid (filled) text styles — they now draw the correct letter in every font
Text placed on a path now also renders accents correctly instead of showing the placeholder box
Accents typed via option-key shortcuts (common on Mac) and pasted-in text now behave identically to directly-typed accented letters
v2.5.0
June 9, 2026
Write in Any Language — Accents & Special Characters
You can now type accented and special characters in every single-line and handwriting font, not just the outline ones. Whether it's Spanish ñ and ¿, French é à ç, German ü ö ß, Portuguese ã õ, or Nordic å ø æ — your text now plots exactly as you wrote it instead of dropping the accent. This works across all of the single-stroke and handwritten font styles, so you can finally plot names, words, and phrases in your own language on any of them.
Accented letters now plot correctly in every single-line (Hershey) and handwriting font — á é í ó ú, à è ì ò ù, â ê î ô û, ä ë ï ö ü ÿ, ã ñ õ, å, ç and their capitals all render with the right accent above or below the letter
Special characters work too — Spanish ¿ and ¡, the German ß, and the ligatures æ / œ (and Æ / Œ) plus the Nordic ø / Ø all plot as proper single-stroke shapes
Accented characters keep the exact same letter width as their plain counterpart, so word spacing, wrapping, and alignment stay perfectly even
Type a whole sentence in mixed languages — accents, plain Latin letters, and the existing Cyrillic & Greek support all work together in the same text box
Accented characters that previously disappeared from single-line and handwriting fonts (showing nothing where the letter should be) now draw correctly

Anycubic Kobra 3 Support — Community Contribution
The Anycubic Kobra 3 is now a fully supported pen plotter, and we owe it entirely to community member Jonas Vannieuwenhuijsen. Jonas designed a custom Fusion pen-holder mount for the Kobra 3 print head, and after a long debugging session worked out exactly which G-code tweaks the Kobra 3 firmware needs to accept 3DPlotter output without manual editing. Pick Kobra 3 from the printer dropdown, flip on the Pen toggle, and download Jonas's STL from Resources → 3D Pen Models to get started. A huge thank-you to Jonas Vannieuwenhuijsen for the design, the research, and for contributing it all back so every Kobra 3 owner can plot out of the box.
Anycubic Kobra 3 is now a first-class supported pen plotter selectable from the printer dropdown, with the Pen toggle ready to flip on the moment you pick it
Jonas Vannieuwenhuijsen's custom Fusion-designed pen-holder mount for the Kobra 3 print head is now available as an STL download in Resources → 3D Pen Models, with on-card attribution to Jonas
Kobra 3 G-code now emits the Anycubic-compatible file structure, so files generated by 3DPlotter run on stock Kobra 3 firmware without manual edits, every one of these fixes was researched and contributed by Jonas Vannieuwenhuijsen
Added an Anycubic row to the in-app Supported Printers panel so the new support is visible at a glance
Massive thank-you to Jonas Vannieuwenhuijsen for the STL, the G-code research, and for being patient enough to debug it through to a clean working print, exactly the kind of contribution that makes 3DPlotter better for everyone
v2.3.0
May 18, 2026
Export Your Design as SVG
Your 3DPlotter designs are no longer one-way trips to G-code. The Export dialog now offers a second format — SVG — so you can take any design you built in 3DPlotter (text, drawings, traced images, generative brushes, layers, the lot) and open it in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, or any other vector tool. Great for thumbnails, logo sheets, laser-cutter handoffs, or just re-importing your own work back into 3DPlotter as a traced layer.
New SVG export option in the Export dialog — pick "SVG" instead of "G-code" to download your design as a clean vector file you can open in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, or any other vector design tool
Exported SVGs preserve your layer structure — each visible layer becomes a colored <g> group (with Inkscape-compatible labels), so your multi-pen design stays organized when you re-open it elsewhere
SVG files are saved in real-world millimeters (matching your bed size) so they round-trip at true size and can be re-uploaded back into 3DPlotter as a traced design later
The SVG matches exactly what you see on screen — printer-side orientation corrections (mirror / rotate) are intentionally skipped so the file looks like your canvas, not the physical bed
The big "Download G-code" button is now simply "Export" — clicking it opens the same dialog with a clear format switch so you can choose G-code (to print) or SVG (to keep designing)

Resources Hub & Redesigned Header
A new Resources hub, a cleaner header that finally fits on smaller screens, and dropdowns that look like the rest of the app. Help, printer setup guides, STL pen-holder models, and the community gallery are now one click away from the canvas — no matter how narrow your window is.
New Resources hub — the old "Printers" header button is now "Resources", opening a single page with all the Help, Printer Setup Guides, STL pen-holder downloads, and supported-printer info in one place
Printer Setup Guides section inside Resources — at-a-glance cards for each supported Bambu Lab printer (A1, A1 Mini, H2S, P1S, X1C) that link to the full step-by-step setup walkthrough for that machine
Tool selector (3DPlotter, String Art, Wax Seal, G-code Editor, Roll Press, Lithophane, Moldforge) is now a single compact dropdown at every screen size, so the printer picker, status, and your avatar always fit in the header without wrapping
Printer dropdown and tool dropdown now render in the dark plotter theme (matching the Save Board / Open Board menu) instead of the browser's default white system list — cleaner look, consistent with the rest of the app
Gallery is back as a one-click destination — accessible from the tool dropdown alongside 3DPlotter, String Art, etc., so you can jump to community designs without leaving the canvas
Resources entry added to the avatar menu (alongside Profile, Subscription, Feedback, etc.) so help, guides, and STL models stay reachable on very narrow screens where the header button collapses
Pricing page enriched with shipping, return-policy, and customer-review structured data so 3DPlotter shows up cleaner in Google Shopping and search snippets — no change to the actual page design
Per-printer landing pages (Bambu Lab A1, A1 Mini, H2S, P1S, X1C) now include a real customer review snippet for richer search results

Traced Image — Scale Keeps Working After Edits
Fixed a frustrating bug where scaling a traced image stopped working — and even reverted to the original size — once you erased a piece of it. Your scaled-up trace now stays exactly where you put it after a delete, and the scale slider keeps responding so you can keep dialing the size in.
Erasing part of a traced image no longer snaps the rest of the trace back to its original (un-scaled) size — the size you set with the Uniform Scale / Width / Height sliders is preserved through the edit
The scale and rotation sliders for a traced image keep working after you delete pieces of it, so you can still resize and rotate the remaining strokes
Same behavior also applies when you move pieces of a traced image — the visible size sticks, and the sliders remain usable for further tweaks

String Art — Wider Thread Thickness Range
The Thread Thickness slider in String Art now spans the full physical range of a 0.4 mm nozzle. You can dial threads down to hair-fine for delicate, near-transparent string art, or push them all the way up to nozzle-width for chunky, high-contrast pieces — with the same per-detail defaults you have today, so existing exports stay identical.
Thread Thickness slider in String Settings now ranges from "Hair fine" to "Nozzle (0.4 mm)" — over 7× the previous range — letting you choose anything from spider-silk thin to a full nozzle-width thread
Per-detail defaults (Low / Medium / High / Ultra) are unchanged, so the Reset button and existing recipes produce the exact same prints as before — the wider range is purely opt-in via the slider
Live canvas preview now reflects the chosen thread thickness more faithfully across the full range, so what you see lines up with what the printer extrudes
v2.1.3

Bambu Lab A1 — Calibration Safe Homing Fix
Critical safety fix for Bambu Lab A1 calibration files. A regression introduced in v2 caused the A1 to attempt nozzle-tap Z homing from the far-left position (off the bed), where the nozzle could scrape the build plate. A1 calibration now follows the same safe homing sequence the main plotter already uses, restoring the behavior the rest of the Bambu lineup has been using without issue.
Bambu Lab A1 calibration files now lift Z safely, home X, stage the toolhead over the bed, and then run the load-cell Z probe — preventing the nozzle from contacting the plate during the homing sequence
Bambu Lab A1 calibration end-sequence now parks the head at the A1-safe position (X0 Y180), matching the main plotter's parking behavior
Added regression tests for every Bambu Lab model (A1, A1 mini, H2S, P1S, X1C) so the calibration homing behavior cannot silently drift again — A1 mini, H-series, P-series, and X-series all keep their current, working homing sequence unchanged

Main Plotter — SVG Rendering Fixes
A focused round of fixes for SVG uploads on the main 3DPlotter tab — intricate pen-plotter SVGs now render true to the source file, with correct line weights and no phantom shapes in the corners.
SVGs that use a clip-path to hide off-page content (common in 3D-projection and perspective pen-plotter designs) no longer leak those hidden rays into the preview — four "phantom" shapes around the artwork are gone
Fine line art uploaded as SVG now keeps its original line-weight hierarchy — strokes set to 0.05–0.3 mm render thin, while bolder outlines render thick, instead of everything being drawn at the same thick preview line
SVG group transforms (translate, scale, rotate, skew, matrix — including nested groups) are now applied correctly, so elements land in the right position and orientation instead of drifting or appearing mis-scaled
Elements defined inside <defs> / <clipPath> are no longer drawn as extra geometry — they're treated as definitions, the way the browser treats them
Switching tracing mode back to "Auto" on an uploaded SVG now re-parses the original vector paths instead of leaving you stuck with the previous raster trace
Uploading an SVG now shows a "Vector Mode" notice and hides the raster-only tracing algorithms (Sketch / Contour / vTracer / Stipple), pointing you to the Fill Mode options instead

Wax Seal Fixes & Polish
A round of fixes for the Wax Seal stamp generator — bold text now renders cleanly in the STL, custom SVG designs come out right-side up, and the side-view preview finally matches the model you actually get.
Bold text no longer breaks the holes in letters like e, a, d, and o when exported to STL — counters now shrink correctly while the outer shape thickens
Uploaded SVG designs are no longer flipped upside down in the printed stamp, so the final model matches the on-screen preview
Custom SVG preview now renders the full design — including gradients, groups, transforms, and rounded rectangles — instead of a simplified subset
Long handle option now draws correctly in the side-view preview and lines up with the generated 3D model
Side-view preview now shows the border ring overlay so you can see exactly where the engraved rim will sit
Font size slider caps at the value the generator actually uses, so the slider no longer sits in a "dead zone" at the top
Downloaded STL filenames now include the handle type — e.g. waxseal-circle-35mm-knob-face.stl — to make batches easier to sort
Cleaned up the built-in symbol picker — removed duplicate entries and gave similar symbols distinct labels
v2.1.0

Invert Source Image toggle — flip blacks and whites for dramatic negative-style string art
Redesigned Edit Image and String Settings panels with gradient sliders, centered numeric inputs, and per-row reset buttons
String art now re-generates live as you tune any setting, so you see the result of each adjustment immediately
Image adjustments and new image uploads made during an in-progress generation are no longer silently lost
Numeric inputs with fractional steps (like Frame mm) no longer show long trailing decimals after editing
