Wax Seal Generator

Design & 3D Print Custom Wax Seals

A wax seal stamp is a raised-design tool pressed into melted wax to create an embossed emblem on letters, packaging, or invitations. 3DPlotter lets you design your own seal and export it as a 3D-printable STL or 3MF file — ready to print on any 3D printer.

Available in the Creator Bundle alongside pen plotting and string art tools. Type text with 28 fonts, upload your SVG logo, or combine both.

Generate 3D Model

Click generate to create the 3D stamp model. The text or SVG is mirrored and engraved into the seal face so it stamps correctly. Download as STL or 3MF for direct printing.

  • Automatic text mirroring for correct stamp impression
  • STL export for any slicer
  • 3MF export for Bambu Studio one-click printing
  • Real-time side-view preview of the stamp profile

3D Print & Seal

Print the stamp on your 3D printer in PLA or resin. Once printed, melt sealing wax onto your envelope or paper, press the stamp into the warm wax, and lift to reveal your custom seal.

  • Print in PLA at 0.1 mm layer height for crisp detail
  • Resin printing works for ultra-fine engravings
  • Standard sealing wax sticks or beads both work
  • Stamp lasts for hundreds of impressions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I 3D print a wax seal stamp?

Yes. 3D-printed stamps in PLA or resin work well with standard sealing wax. PLA has a high enough melting point (around 160-180 C) that it will not deform when pressed into hot sealing wax (which melts at around 80-100 C). For the finest detail, print at 0.1 mm layer height or use a resin printer.

What material should I print the stamp in?

PLA is the easiest and most common choice. It prints reliably and withstands sealing wax temperatures. PETG also works. For the sharpest engravings, use a resin (SLA/DLP) printer. Avoid flexible filaments like TPU.

What shapes are available for wax seals?

3DPlotter offers seven shapes: circle, oval, hexagon, octagon, square, rectangle, and shield. Circle is the most traditional shape for wax seals, but hexagon and shield are popular for monograms and crests.

Can I use my own logo or monogram?

Yes. You can upload any SVG file as your seal design. The generator automatically mirrors the image so it stamps correctly. This works for logos, monograms, family crests, or any vector artwork.

How big is the seal?

The diameter is adjustable from 20 mm to 50 mm. The most common wax seal size is 25-30 mm (about 1 inch). The height (including handle) depends on which handle style you choose.

Does it work with regular sealing wax?

Yes. Standard sealing wax sticks, wax beads, and glue gun sealing wax all work. Melt the wax onto your surface, wait 5-10 seconds for it to start cooling, then press the stamp firmly and hold for 10-15 seconds.
