Ruling is an Add Object tool in Lines & Patterns inside 3DPlotter V3 Studio. An even field of ruled lines across the page.
How to use Ruling
- Open Studio → Add Object → Lines & Patterns → Ruling
- A live Ruling element is added to the active layer
- Tune parameters in the element card in the object stack (live canvas preview)
- Export plot-ready G-code when satisfied

Key controls
- Spacing — 4mm (1–20mm step 0.5)
- Angle — 0° (0–180° step 1)
- Margin — 12mm (0–40mm step 1)
- Stroke — 0.2mm (0.1–2mm step 0.05)
- Color — #223f4d
Tune spacing, angle, margin, stroke, and color in the inspector — open Studio to see all options.
Shuffle (in the element card) re-rolls: spacing, margin.
What you can plot with Ruling
- Pen-plotter art on A4/A3 beds (Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, and other pen-holder setups)
- Layered linework exported as G-code with pen-up travel
- Combined with other V3 objects and modifiers in the same document

Is this non-destructive?
Objects live on layers as elements. You can edit parameters anytime; delete the element to remove it.
Does Ruling work with multi-pen plotting?
Yes. Use Pen Palette on a layer to split linework by color, or set per-path ink on modifiers like Offset.
