Moiré is an Add Object tool in Lines & Patterns inside 3DPlotter V3 Studio. Two rulings beating against each other into a veil.
How to use Moiré
- Open Studio → Add Object → Lines & Patterns → Moiré
- A live Moiré element is added to the active layer
- Tune parameters in the element card in the object stack (live canvas preview)
- Export plot-ready G-code when satisfied

Key controls
- Draw — both · Both Rulings, First Ruling Only, Second Ruling Only
- Spacing — 2.6mm (0.8–12mm step 0.1)
- Amplitude — 6mm (0–30mm step 0.5)
- Frequency — 2.4 (0.2–12 step 0.1)
- Detune — 0.18 (0–1 step 0.01)
Tune draw, spacing, amplitude, frequency, and detune in the inspector — open Studio to see all options.
Shuffle (in the element card) re-rolls: spacing, frequency, detune.
What you can plot with Moiré
- Pen-plotter art on A4/A3 beds (Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, and other pen-holder setups)
- Layered linework exported as G-code with pen-up travel
- Combined with other V3 objects and modifiers in the same document

Is this non-destructive?
Objects live on layers as elements. You can edit parameters anytime; delete the element to remove it.
Does Moiré work with multi-pen plotting?
Yes. Use Pen Palette on a layer to split linework by color, or set per-path ink on modifiers like Offset.
